Logopak's history begins in 1978 when the company was formed to manufacture a packaging machine for the "greetings card" industry.
Logopak involvement in packaging continued until 1983, when it was commissioned to manufacture its first integrated system with a "print & apply" labeller at its heart.
For the next few years, packaging machinery and print & apply labellers went side by side until a large contract was won for the supply of a number of systems across Europe, to a major American confectionery / petfood producer.
In 1988 Logopak moved from packaging machinery to 100% "print & apply" machinery.
In 1990 the new industrial generation of "print & apply" labellers (LEAP) was launched, this was the first machine to be totally stand alone, with full label design on-board, and could be fully utilised without the need for a p.C.
During the next 8 years Logopak manufactured and installed 600 of its 920PF pallet labelling systems throughout all industries across Europe.
1998 Logopak started "Logosoft", a subsidiary company based in the UK for the purpose of the development of specialised software for traceability, and mainframe connectivity to its labellers.
1999 saw the launch of the new labeller ranges (2906 / 2920) with the Power LEAP II (iLEAP642) generation of controls based on the industrial Can-bus system used in modern day automobile engine management systems.
2000 saw the launch of "Smart labels" and "EAS" labels with the future in mind of product tracking and scanning with no line of sight.
In early 2001 Logopak launched another "first", that of RSM units. These were the first Remote service modules on the market, which could be plugged in to an ISDN telephone line for remote service into a Logopak labeller.
In 2001 Logopak launched its new adhesive-less "LIFT" label material, for use in areas where absolutely no adhesive residue was required. This material applies to smooth surfaced products, and adheres permanently without adhesive.
