FOUNDED in 1989, Nicholl Food Packaging has grown to encompass production facilities on two large sites in the UK.
These are complemented by a further factory in France, operated by our Ecopla company.
By organic growth and acquisition we have become the largest producer of aluminium foil containers in Europe.
Nicholl Food Packaging began trading in 1989 with a small factory in Wolverhampton, but a year later moved to a 7, 486 square metre site at Aldridge.This substantial site had plenty of room for natural expansion.
Continuing growth led to a move to a new headquarters near Cannock in Staffordshire in 2004.
The Company also operates foil container manufacturing plant at Chapel-en-le-Frith in Derbyshire. This site has and will continue to benefit from major investment aimed at low-cost high-quality production.
Working from these sites, each having its own productive strength, Nicholl Food Packaging will continue to build upon its reputation for quality product allied to excellent customer service.
When the company began trading, production was almost entirely for the ethnic take-away market.The Company now operates in all of the key market sectors for conventional aluminium foil containers.
The development of the market for heat-sealable smoothwall containers for ready meals extends our involvement in this key market sector. We are the dominant supplier of these products and we shall continue to invest in this growth sector.
