Grotech Production was founded in 2002 to purchase and operate the business, formerly known as Protech Formulations on the retirement of its managing director, Roger Pickering. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Molescroft Management Limited.

The operating philosophy of Grotech Production is to follow closely the successful pattern established by Protech Formulations Limited.

Protech Formulations was founded in 1977 as a specialist formulator/packer to the Agrochemical industry.

New premises were soon necessary and in 1980 the company moved to Goole, East Yorkshire and currently operates from a 10, 000 sq. Ft. Factory with additional warehousing space nearby. These premises were increased further in 2005 by the construction of a new purpose built 12, 000 sq. Ft. Factory at Britannia Road (about 3/4 mile from Larsen Park).

Since our formation we have acted both for multinational 'Blue Chip' companies as well as smaller organisations with no in-house production facilities. We provide a confidential contract service in the formulation and packing of powders, granules and liquids.

Although our primary market is the Agrochemical Industry we are equipped to handle many types of industrial and household chemicals. Emphasis has been placed on safety with equipment and procedures to protect personnel, the public and the environment.

To avoid any possibility of contamination we do not handle food or pharmaceutical ingredients.

Our location close to the M62 allows ease of distribution throughout the UK and a multi-point delivery service is available.

The close proximity of the Humber ports gives excellent access to Europe and a customs warehousing/packing service is currently in operation.

Specialist formulator/packer to the Agrochemical industry. Liquids Products/Information: Mixing Capacity is primarily for handling aqueous based formulations especially where solids are dissolved or suspended. Main Mixer - 4500lt stainless steel, mounted on load cells. Smaller mixing vessels available. De-agglomeration of solids by in-line Probst & Claas disintegrator. Pipework, pumps, filters and holding vessels all in stainless steel. Liquids Packing Container sizes from 100ml. To bulk tanker. Equipment available:- 4 head fully automatic filler for 100ml. To 10lt. Facility for awkward unstable packs via 'puck' based filling system. Semi-automatic fillers for 500ml to 20lt containers. Additional equipment for capping, induction sealing, ink jet coding, 'patch' and 'wraparound' labelling and 'end of line' equipment - shrink wrapping, carton tapers, pallet wrapping etc. Solids Products/Information: Mixing & Blending: Blending of powders is carried out by Ribbon Blender, in batches from 500kg. To 1500kg. Raw materials input from kegs, sacks or FIBC Liquid addition if required. Impregnated or coated granules are produced in a Rotary Drum Blender. Batch size 500kg. To 1000kg. Depending on bulk density. Liquid addition is achieved by spray nozzles with air micronisation if required. Inter process transfer is by 'tote' bin system. Solids Packing Container sizes from 50grm. To 1000kg. - With high fill accuracy. Kegs, drums and sacks up to 25kg. Small packs include:- A) Laminate block bottom bags filled on automatic or semi auto lines. B) Fully auto bulk fill and top-up line for jars, bags, boxes, buckets etc. With vibrating settling if required. All supported by labelling, ink-jet coding and end-of-line equipment as for liquids packing.
